Rotary Axes for Precise Motion Control
Efficient Rotary Axes – Flexible Retrofitting and High Precision
Rotary axes play a central role in modern laboratory automation – especially wherever not only linear but also rotary movements along a specific axis or direction are required. Whether for optical systems, automated alignment processes, or complex scanning applications, CYBERTRON Berlin's electric rotary axes enable controlled rotational movement, precise directional changes, and reproducible alignment of rotating bodies or laboratory components—even in liquid handling, sample transport, or precise pipetting.
Rotary Motion Axes for Every Application
We supply you with the right rotary axis for your application. Our rotary axes can be used in a variety of ways – for example, for the precise rotation of object carriers, for tilting optical components, or for rotating entire liquid handling modules along a longitudinal axis. Our components can also be used to create combinations of linear and rotary motion precisely along any desired axis and in any desired direction. Depending on your requirements, we supply individual axes or combined systems consisting of linear and rotary modules – for example, for the axis movement of an automated robot, targeted sample transport, or a moving body during measurement and analysis processes. Our rotary axes are available either as stand-alone axes or as part of a multidimensional axis system. Whether as an extension of existing modules or as a new development for special body or object movements, CYBERTRON provides you with systems that are precisely tailored to your requirements in terms of mechanics, control technology, and functionality.
pMovePhi – the Compact Rotation Unit From Cybertron
With the pMovePhi, you get a powerful, compact rotation axis that has been specially developed for modular laboratory devices and automated analysis systems. The fully integrated unit combines a servo motor, toothed belt drive, and a high-resolution measuring system directly in the robust base body – for maximum precision, stability, and dynamic rotation while requiring minimal space.
A key feature is the continuous rotation range of over 360°, which allows for virtually unlimited direction changes along the rotation axis by eliminating the need for a mechanical stop. This makes the rotation axis ideal for superimposed movements in demanding applications. The central 56 mm bore provides sufficient clearance for optical applications, e.g., through-light systems or the integration of underfloor lighting – especially in combination with our linear axes.
The pMovePhi can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems and expands Cartesian axis systems with a precise rotary component – e.g., as a rotating Z-axis in a 2- or 3-axis configuration with our pMove linear units. This enables the creation of a fully configurable 3-axis system. Thanks to the compact industrial connector, cabling is simple, interference-free, and easy to install. The pMovePhi is therefore ideal for use in space-critical devices with medium loads that require fast, repeatable rotations. Typical applications include image processing systems, precise scanning processes, and the automatic adjustment of samples and slides.
